Training before Going Mountaineering Gives Better Performance and Lowers the Risk of Injuries
Each year with the first ski weekends it is the very same story. In spite of walking to the workplace, and an episodic weekend hike, every winter season initiates on those excruciating 1st couple of routes in which I am left in the paths of younger and abler skiing cronies.
Being in bad shape while skiing it’s awful, and could be extremely perilous. To ski down one needs to have surplus capacity. A tired boarder is more prone to suffer accidents and tiredness could be a contributory element to incidents, for example crashes and avalanches.
There must be a nicer way to kickoff the winter, and a freshly brought out 303 page report by Kim Bergeron, who previously seems to tender an answer. While aimed at climbers the report is largely relevant to ski touring, with its strenuous ascents besides other hobbies.
Cycling, training for top performance is well detailed and a good read. It’s a fine all round book which assembles some poignant research. One can evolve a particular cardiovascular regime or tweak your present one. Afforded that it’s written for climbers, thus some of the techniques could be irrelevant for touring, it’s definitely a book to get if you prefer to do a few of the big 24 hrs or multi day routes.
